In a blog post by Treyarch, it’s explained that the battle pass from Cold War will eventually connect to Warzone. We do know that this game will be getting a battle pass, but it appears that the battle pass itself will be tied to whether you’re on Modern Warfare or Black Ops Cold War. Here’s where things get a bit confusing, as Treyarch hasn’t been entirely clear on how the battle pass system will work in Black Ops Cold War. This is done via an Activision account, just remember that exclusive items on PlayStation will not be usable on any other console but Sony’s. Additionally, cross-save is coming to Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, so any progress you make on one system will be carried over to the others. This also includes the upcoming Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, so if you get the new console you can play with anyone on any of the available platforms.

Similar to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War will feature crossplay for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation users. So don’t expect to see players running around with futuristic technology in Black Ops Cold War. Just remember, items that are from Modern Warfare can only be used in Modern Warfare or Warzone. Perhaps one of the most important questions surrounding the return of Warzone is will my progress and cosmetic items carry over? Thankfully the answer is yes, all of the blueprints, weapons, cosmetics, equipment, and skins you have previously earned for this mode will be usable in Black Ops Cold War. Make sure to check back with us to keep updated on the latest info on Black Ops Cold War’s version of Warzone.

Remember, we will be updating this article as more is revealed about this mode in the coming months. If you are purchasing Black Ops Cold War solely for Warzone here is everything we know so far. We suspect that there will be a bigger reveal for Warzone in the future, as we didn’t even get a map or teaser trailer. There’s a lot of critical information about this mode still up in the air, however, developer Treyarch did share some new details today. Returning from Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare, Warzone is the 150 battle royale mode that took the genre by storm when it released. While the main focus of today was the core online component, we did get some new info on the returning battle royale mode, Warzone. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer has finally been revealed after weeks of anticipation.
